'Our school is the best in the ACT.'
During our ‘Creating Our Learning Community’ Program, Year 5/6B were asked to list the positive aspects of Mawson Primary School. Listed below are what we believe makes our school a special place.
- First up, the SCARF rules help everyone learn about success.

It’s great how we have the Hearing Support Unit to help deaf people.
- Our school has the best Human Values Program in the ACT.
- Our teachers are friendly and help us a lot.
- It’s good to have the Mandarin Immersion Program.
- Our buddies are another great thing about our school.
- The Gifted and Talented Program helps people understand how everyone is talented in some way.
- Our assemblies are good and they give everyone a chance to share their work.
- We have fun excursions, camps, sports clinics and carnivals.
- Our school is a safe, friendly place.
- Our environment is clean and healthy.
We have the SRC so that we can discuss important issues about the school.
- We believe in being sunsmart.
- We have good facilities like the library, computer lab, the canteen, and large grass areas for playing and running.
- We are a small school.
- It’s easy to make friends here at Mawson.
- Our classrooms are big and comfortable.
- We do special things like Mad Hair Day, Wakakirri, Southside Spectacular
