Literacy and numeracy proficiency for all students in our care is our highest priority. Students are entitled to be engaged in relevant, challenging and meaningful learning. Inclusive teaching practices respond to individual student's needs to enable them to access the curriculum.
The school follows the Australian Curriculum in the areas of English, Mathematics, Science, History, Geography, Design Technology and Mandarin language.
There is an emphasis on second language learning with our unique Mandarin program, values education through the Bounceback program and scientific literacy through Primary Connections Program. The school conducts an annual Science Investigation night for the community and all classes submit an entry into the SEA*ACT Science Fair.
Health and Physical Education and The Arts are also taught at Mawson Primary School using the Every Chance to Learn ACT Curriculum Framework. The school offers opportunities for students to participate in the Limelight Production, Film Festival and Art Show. An annual concert is held in Term 4 and all students participate.
