The Arts is an important component of the Mawson Primary School curriculum. The Arts focuses on developing students' capacity to create, present and appreciate a range of art forms, including dance, drama, music, visual arts and media. Through our Arts programs, students develop intellectual, social, physical and aesthetic understandings and skills which assist them to create, explore and communicate ideas and appreciate a variety of art forms.
A unique aspect of Mawson’s Arts program is the opportunity to experience all areas of the Arts from both an English and Mandarin perspective.
Students at Mawson Primary School have opportunities to participate in the ACT Instrumental Music Program through the School Woodwind Band in Years 5 and 6. Mawson also has two school choirs, our Junior Mandarin Choir and Senior Choir.
